Our History
In 2000, as a practicing pediatrician, Dr. Allen Menkin was frustrated with high up front vaccine costs, low reimbursement rates, and other challenges of vaccine purchasing. This inspired Dr. Menkin to develop a process to assist his practice and other fellow physicians resulting in the development of Main Street Vaccines.
Main Street Vaccines began by managing one contract with Sanofi Pasteur. An agreement with Merck was added shortly thereafter and a few hundred members, primarily pediatricians, enrolled within a year. Currently, we manage three distinct vaccine contracts and offer discounts on virtually everything needed to run a practice. Our membership base now includes physicians from all practice settings including: family practice, internal medicine, OBGYN, and university programs.
In 2015, Main Street Vaccines entered an agreement to become an independent corporation within NDC, Inc., a healthcare supply chain company headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
This new partnership allows Main Street Vaccines to maintain the same level of service, commitment and personal attention that has been our hallmark, while adding tangible benefits to membership.
